Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

I've been doing some research

Trying to see which companies I should apply to to get away from here and what I found is truly disheartening. Based on this forum, Glassdoor, Indeed, and several other places I found every single O&G company has the same issues we're having. Some to a lesser extent, some to a higher extent, but the difference is mostly negligible. Basically, if I want to leave I have no place to go where I'll have job security, a normal work environment, regular raises and bonuses, and a chance to progress based on merit.

Chevron pay is definitely not 20% lower than Exxon pay.

Plenty of places where you can have all that. The reality is you won’t be paid as much for being an average worker in other industries. Non OG besides tech only pays well if you’re truly a top performer

Chevron here. At least you all get paid more. Our pay is a good 20% or more lower and we still have to put up with garbage.

This is what happens in a shrinking industry. We are the cool minors in the 90’s. Just hope for one more bo-m but I am not sure it will happen. Heck at these spruces we should be seeing a little bo-m but I don’t see any. The good days may be behind us and it could dwindle down to the people who actually dig the ore out of the mine not all the other people who are needed for the growth and expansion.

Remember 3 years ago. Hire more hire more we need people hire more. Now it’s, layoffs, fire more, treat them bad so they leave. Just remember how you were treated if we have another bo-m. We might only have one left in us before the mine gets put on production of ore only and they decide not to progress forward with anything else.

I feel you pain inside XOM. Good hard working folk are not seeing any merit increases in this new rank and yank system…sorry PDS. It favours those in the limelight or those with a manager with a solid backbone. Most of us would like to be assessed on the work we did verses what other succeeded in portraying
