I’m in a field office so I don’t see the resignations firsthand, only on LinkedIn. How bad is it really back at the main offices and manufacturing sites?

@1emg That's good information, I was wondering why there are many active job postings for Brussels when we are trying to lose people in other parts of the Corporation.
Brussels HQ: 25% left/leaving this year and unfortunately more to come in 2022 (and maybe even the years after) - do not see a future for this HQ.
You can believe the number of layoffs are far higher than anything you heard on tv or read on the internet.

Saw a few people bounce to tech or EVs from engineering disciplines. Makes sense. A lot of the general engineering practices and skill sets are transferable and people seem ready to leave if they feel a "pull". PIPs just make people feel like they are in over supply so it makes sense they go to where the market has more of a demand skew.
It is not uniformly distributed. The employees who have backgrounds in analytics, IT, optimization are leaving. The attrition is low in areas like process engineering etc. I know at least 10 employees who joined Amazon within last year. Our competition for talent is no longer O&G. I hope our higher management starts to understand that we are no longer the first choice for talent.
The company managed by DW can still not get that people leave bad management. And they have not desire to improve treating people like people. Heck they cant provide basics people need to stay and feel appreciated, respect, dignity, care, and trust. Too much to ask from XOM. This is 21st century and old slavery will not work, especially when a lot of other good companies treat their people much much much better at the individual and humane level.
Pre-plandemic Annandale was 1300-1500 people on site, we’re currently back to “full capacity” and we are wellllll under 1000 people daily. Place is a ghost town. Heard rumblings of 6-700 people.
@cdp+1c6kiG62 same in Baytown, lots of young Management-types including SLS and DH levels are leaving, but also a significant number of wage/ops people, which I’d say is very unusual/concerning.
Pretty bad in Houston. And it’s only the beginning.

Many of the best are “Looking” who are still employed. Lot of folks who are in top categories are “actively” looking, especially those below 40 years old.
“Best of the Best” about to leave
Writing is on the wall and our “leadership” are in denial
It’s simultaneously not as bad as some people think, but also the worst it’s ever been
