He got us out of the spotlight at the right moment.
When people think about carbon-based issues, global warming and the like -
their very first thought is No Longer 'ExxonMobil'.

This is a major accomplishment and should not be diminished.

Woods accomplished what no other CEO has done in the last one hundred years: 1) got us kicked out of the Dow; 2) credit rating downgraded three times; 3) leveraged to 75 billion; and 4) ran the stock price down to one half of Chevrons. And all of this only took three years to accomplish. He also gave us the Value Added Chain Strategy which of course failed miserably, followed by the Lean Into Strategy, which hard to believe was even worse. Now we are onto the Woods Net Worth Strategy which seems to be working well, 100 million by YE21. Of course he put F&L and a goofy as can be Brit in charge of the entire Downstream, what can wrong with that strategy? Reorganized the entire Upstream, and we still trying to figure out what that is all about and how that is supposed to work. Established a supply trading group that lost 5 billion before it was disbanded after 3 years. Then there was let's swap Upstreamer and Downstream employees cause an engineer is an engineer, right, how did that work out, another disaster. Paid too much for Brazil so that is a non starter. Drill baby drill in the Permian, no wait, stop. Hid under his desk for first 6 months of covid wearing his N95 mask not knowing what to do. And then unleashed Captain Tracy on us all freezing salaries, promotions, layoffs, offshored our jobs, PIPS, PILs, PCPs, fake news forums, fake videos and communicated all of this through the press. Lost control of his board and bought himself $500M in New jets. And we got great slogans like Winning. All In all, I think Woods has done a great job, and deserves the bonuses, and RSUs he voted for himself and his top minions for their performance in 2020.

Oh, come on people. The guy is credited with the masterpiece of GVS. He created the F&L company and all the maximum value chain returns that came out of it. He reorganized upstream and created the uniquely successful project organization in order to transfer knowledge on how to overpay and take longer than needed.
Give the man my 401k!

Darren Woods hasn't done a damn thing as CEO except complain about how he is underpaid. When Covid hit he hid under his desk for 6 months before we heard a peep out of him. Now his only focus is how much money can he get for himself before he leaves the company.

I really cannot name any.

Maybe some of the few chosen ones who sucked on to him immediately when they went to lunch with him on his first campus visit can chime in here.

That is a really tough one. I wish we had a more compelling vision that pay the dividend.
