Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

MORE STORES CLOSING

I've heard several in New England are doomed to close. The Boston store is on the chopping block, it was rumored to move and downsize but I think lack of sales has ended that hope.

These statements here say it all.

Yes they do say it all ! Retail must evolve & keep up with the times. BN botched the .com market from the beginning and has done nothing to improve it.

"Retail stores change & evolve. Barnes & Noble didn’t. And now, companies like Amazon offering competitive pricing and fast reliable delivery are reaping the benefits. "

"Close them all.
No longer needed. "

These statements here say it all. I apologize to any employees who will be hurt by the loss of their jobs, however, I can't wait to see this company fail. After the way they cleaned house of some of us long time staff, and, how upper management has turned a blind eye to abusive store-level managers, they deserve to shut down.

JD & his upper management staff should all feel the burn & be out on their AZZEZ looking for new jobs.

There’ll be more closings. The stores aren’t making enough money to stay open. Spending too much money for substandard managers. Spending too much money for product that sits on the shelves, with no sales.

I don’t know about closings but the much talked about raises and restructuring is very selective. In my store the raise was only given to certain people and the new positions were not even offered.
