Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Choose smaller providers

For some reason, people are content to stay at SF because it's big, it's a major name in insurance, or it's whatever other reason that boils down to it being one of the biggest carriers. But there are other options in insurance that are not as stressful, work-intensive, or come with the horrible work culture. Smaller providers will still be a source of some stress, that's the nature of the beast, but they will not make everything seem like a constant struggle. Now I finish my work in time, when I'm done I don't think about work constantly, and if I have an issue, I have people I can turn to who I know will help me. I've been happier in the last six months since I quit than in a long time.

State Farm and other industry cos Price gouges and redlines and profiles folks then sticks it to the middle lower class. The industry is now setting prices on the same criteria. Credit rating. Claims. Neither are numbers of integrity or a good measure. Despite what the “experts” say.

They want “elite” rich customers. Not real life customers and policyholders. Risk management the sick way

I can’t really afford to insure with SF even working here. When you live on 50% of bottom line middle management pay, you gotta exhaust your options. Should speak volumes about the company also.

I often wonder who their target audience outside of agent connections even are, it’s definitely by far not younger white, or blue color workers just starting out in life. Whether you are low or high risk.

It’s really odd when people find out I work here but find out I also don’t carry it. I feel like that question gets brought up by at least half your family members and friends.
