Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

The new Pulse survey results don’t share the same sentiment as this board

Sure there are stores where certain questions ranked lower then the company average but overall the survey scores were good. Why ? If everything is soooooo miserable working in the stores these days why weren’t the scores a lot lower to reflect that ?

This is so on point with what's going on within VZW. I have been a GM for a long time and this survey Verizon takes no ownership. My team was honest about our problems within the company which all are mentioned on this board. Now my boss is after me for the pulse results as if it was me. The verbatims on the survey in my store were about sh---y POS systems, terrible commission structure, being understaff, working harder for less money due to a terrible corporate strategy. My reps say hey we are going to make less money this year than they have the last couple years. They are also mad that they don't get paid for upgrades and the customer survey they feel is not fair. Morale is at a all time low and Verizon wants me to lie to them that's it's going to get better. My DM told me that the survey was a reflection on me but everything my team put in was about the companies lack of it caring for it's employees. I will be out before the end of the year with this company. This is to me a sad position my team and I are in as we have given so much to a company that doesn't care about us one iota. My team is tenured and they see through the BS that Verizon AKA the woke company is putting us through.

I take the survey expecting it to be traceable to me and to reflect poorly on my manager if I speak badly on the survey.
I usually don’t care so much about them knowing it is me but I don’t want my manager to be punished for it. I’ve talked to many of my coworkers who say they give it all the highest marks because they don’t want it to look bad for our immediate leadership or it helps them feel better about work to say it is great.

DM stated not confidential in my district, even had conference calls to protect territory with the reps because he was so afraid of his area getting poor results, he didn’t want to leave it up to store management if it reflected at all on him

@2dcn+1brHqz2P For every 1 employee out there that is thankful they were not furloughed or laid off I can show you 10 that wish they had been. We would have been making MORE money without even working at all. People talk about Verizon like it’s the only company to work for. The grass is now greener on the other side.

Verizon has over 100 thousand employees. From techs, to folks working the stores, to corporate employees. Corporate has been work from home unless its say a critical role involving going into a data center and even then it's been very limited. Techs have had to be in mobile garages and quarantines depending on COVID exposure. People in the stores have had modified hours and limits on who can be there.

The pandemic has forced everyone to change the way they work and there is little chance of switching back to the before times. I'm corporate and very happy with how VZ recognized that my team can do the work from home because when we come into the office our work is with folks via virtual meetings to begin with.

If I only come in once a week or month, that would be huge savings for the company which I prefer if it means reducing layoffs overall. I have been screwed over multiple times by the company, but I'm so thankful that I wasn't part of the many who were furloughed or laid off.

Maybe this should be the pulse survey, Maybe Verizon doesn’t really give a cr-p about what is really going on at the store level, maybe everyone knows the surveys are not truly confidential like they claim, maybe some people can’t afford to be targeted after telling the truth

Yeah any anyone out side of the stores in Verizon had it super easy all pandemic work wise. Most of them still haven't left their house in over a year. Our DM in the pandemic was doing conference calls while on vacation. Saw it when their green screen glitched out on a call. Most people haven't been in the office since March. 2020. What snacks are they going to have in the cafe? need to know how much money to bring.

Retail workers are not alone in the pulse survey. They make up a small fraction of the results.

The pulse survey doesn't reflect how people really feel because the stooges from the DM and above put all the blame on the store manager if the pulse survey is low, everyone knows the gm is in the same boat as reps and don't want to risk their GM getting written up or fired ..no one above the GM takes ownership of this place being a sh---y place to work

Bunch of corporate stooges

lmao it’s more likely that the results are manipulated. do you really think a corrupt company — who is not only image-obsessed but also hellbent on pushing feel-good, corporate propaganda instead of tangible change — would let the Pulse surveys show how people really feel? Occam’s Razor.

Bro you have to take everything you read on here with a grain of salt. This Lay-off board is not the voice of everyone working in the stores it’s a small percent made up of disgruntled windfall slammers.
