Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Dividends and your 401k plan retired at 52 !!!

If anyone were to look and see that on June 2nd it was declared that for every share of Verizon would be paid .6275 per share owned.

The EX date is is 07/08/2021. What does this mean well it means the stock is traded after the dividend.

To get paid the dividend a owner has to own 1 share by end of business on 07/07/2021.

That person gets the payout on 08/02/2021.

EVEN EMPLOYEES WITH 401ks in a ESOP can check a box to receive dividends as regular income payed out now.

Its how I was making over 22000 a year the last 4 years +

I will be getting another $4400+ dividend payout on 08/02/2021.

Funny when the price goes down you can buy more stock and get even more per share on dividend yield.

huh?

Please dont take financial advice from someone who knows absolutley nothing about this subject. If you need help find a financial planner who is also a fiduciary. This poster is probably a bag holder who made an unwise VZ stock purchase and now is spamming in a desperate attempt to cover his loss. There are better options in your 401k. His returns are not accurate and VZ stock has underperformed the market for several years now.

Figure out how the Verizon 401k plan Really works to your benefit.

When you choose company stock or if you move your funds to company stock you can CHOOSE to

have the dividends payed in cash each and every quarter.

its treated as regular income too no penalty.

if i have to explain it out it gets removed

WHEN A PERSON MAKES OVER a 65% RETURN RATE OVER 10 YEARS----

you MIght want to listen.

haha

you could reinvest dividends too.

Still nice to have a regular income steam from a 401k though isn't it?

at least once a quarter too.

huh ?

yup.

If one understands 401k plan they can move funds once per day.

Growth funds averages a 20% return lets say I move funds to Verizon Stock 3 days before ex date.

I move the money back 2 days after ex date to be safe.

I still get the dividend now don't I ?

Through the 401k no less.

Paid in cash as its a ESOP?

no / YES

  1. 6275 dividend x 4 per year = $2.51 per share.
  1. 64 is what Verizon's stock is at.
  1. 51 / 56.64 is a return of 4.431%

The yearly market average is around 10%. You literally could blindly invest in a mutual fund that follows the market and make more than double.

The dividend currently is 2.51 per share per year at less then $57.00 per share the yield is over 4.4%

Try putting $57.00 in a bank and getting back $2.51 per year.

Now take every number and multiply by 100

$25,100 a year back for having $570,000 in stock for a year sounds cool huh

in retirement 401k no less

yup
