How easy is it for employees who are 50 and over to find a new job? I know plenty who are unhappy here especially since the merger but all of them are staying because they don't think there are options available to them on the job market. I feel like they're not taking into account their experience which is worth more than they think.

Yes they are I speak from my own experience. Yes you may be more expensive, however that expensive experience save a smart company a lot of money in the long run. Cheaper is not always better, remember you get what you pay for.
Stay strong, there is life after the bank and it is sooooo much better.
Age discrimination is a very real thing. Younger people view that experience as dinosaur experience that has no relevance in the current world. Also more experienced people are more expensive. There is a sweet spot where the experience is necessary and relevant but beyond that it's just costly. It's easiest for those under 35 to jump ship but much harder for those over 50. I have great sympathy.
