How does the voluntary package compare to the recent involuntary ones?

Speaking from experience....if you get the offer, TAKE IT!

The fact you got the offer tells you the bank thinks you are 'expendable'. This isn't going to change, going forward. You are a cell on a spreadsheet and that cell isn't "green".
Also, these packages don't get better over time. They tend to get less and less attractive.

The job market is good. Take the money and go.

The only thing that's voluntary is which layoff do you want? The more generous payout or the regular pink slip. Believe me, it's not voluntary!!! If you got the offer, you will be going out the door by the end of the year whether you take it now or beome a sitting duck

The package is only offered to employees 55 and up with 10 or more years with the bank. You won't be approached if you don't meet the criteria.

Where are you getting your information? I’m a Truist employee and haven’t heard this.

I heard the severance is better than the original, 3 weeks for every year worked, up to 60 weeks. Not sure if that applies to all or SVPs. They also are extending your health coverage, I think 6 months, but I'm not sure if that is accurate.

You have to apply for the severance package and be approved. There will be a finite number of slots, they will make the decision to approve or not. Not sure why they are doing it this way, makes it feel like age discrimination to me, get rid of the older folks and give them severance not to fight it. Good way to escape if you can get approved.

I have no idea but you can bet it won’t be the same and don’t think for one minute that the ones not taking the “voluntary” package won’t (in a short time) be given the involuntary. The writing is on the wall.
