Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Does Verizon learn anything from its mistakes?

When I heard the new rumor about hiring seasonal employees - well that would be really ridiculous. They just seem to repeat the same things and expect different results. Is it possible that they learn nothing from their mistakes? Obviously they do not analyze their failures nor take seriously the lessons to be learned.

We have learned from this before. Customers will continue to get upset that the door greeter can’t do anything. The greeters will start to be sketchy or actually useful, no in between. Everyone will complain they are useless and they will dissolve and after the year is over. Verizon will return to only hiring full time people once 2022 starts. The rebuilding will start then and executive changes will be made. Verizon will start to care about the employees then

How you gonna train someone to gracefully to go away and provide other resources if they aren't adding, buying or switching to Verizon. Sounds fun.

From what I have heard we are talking about temp/seasonal greeters. Not full on sales reps. I would have thought having a designated greeter at the door and that freeing up a manager to actually help the store would be a positive.
