Attrition is a problem when you can’t keep your best people for whatever reason.
Attrition is helping Oracle avoid broader layoffs because so many people are leaving.
The question is that whether the brain drain is the low performers and unnecessary people (like on prem and apps unlimited folks) or newer cloud people.
OCI people hired three and four years ago are approaching in the coming weeks and months. MASSIVE cliff of compensation. Meaning the massive RSU packages they were given when hired have all vested.
If many of these peoples’ RSUs are not refreshed at the levels they were hired at (or above) expect a MASSIVE exodus this summer and fall as people look for stronger compensation elsewhere or go back to AWS or Azure.
This is no joke. I bet even the Ax-Man would agree with me. I’m speaking from the OCI trenches for the rank and file OCI Employee in Seattle.
