All this sucks!

With the FY21 earnings out today, anybody know if the hiring freeze is being lifted?
Is the freeze still in existence? FY 22 is in place now.
Is this from today's meeting?
Little conflicting messages, I hear freeze for another few weeks and still job posting going up!
It was the Pillar Talk.
Leaders all hands. Where they prepare the upper crust to support the BS they share today.
What was this meeting that occurred "yesterday" and who was it's primary audience?
I know there's supposed to be a Cisco Check-in today, but I wasn't aware of any employee wide meeting earlier in the week.
She also used a disgusting euphemism for keeping people dangling, I cannot remember the exact term, but it was definitely unsympathetic.
Fran was asked about 10 times yesterday about the “pause” and she never gave a clear answer. It seems like it’s sort of/maybe coming to a perhaps end.
There are currently 797 jobs posted globally at Cisco. Even if all those jobs are frozen, it wont be enough to stop the upcoming LR. At least 4000 heads need to be chopped to balance the books.

Does anyone know if Cisco has started hiring again or when the pause will be over?
Thank you Chuck and the entire ELT for being woke. Not!
Well, you’ll be happy to attend this week’s check in.
Three agenda items:
Number 2 is a rah-rah about our Olympic involvement.
Number 3 is our “Social Justice Action Plan” - that should be fun.
Saw some job posting. But the role I am waiting for still yet to appear.
I also saw new job postings by Cisco on LinkedIn today
interesting... I saw couple of job postings in linkedin and Glassdoor by Cisco.
The hiring freeze to be extended by another month into Q1. Apparently, the ELT have realized that LR'ing folks is meanspirited. Folks in underperforming BUs or depts will be moved to other areas where there is growth as long as they have the minimum skillset.
Thank you Chuck and the entire ELT for being woke. Not!
it seems cisco started hiring again
Is this still going on? I finished all my interviews and waiting for this to end to get my offer.
They're stringing you along. They don't do interviews during a hiring freeze unless they have a SVP approval to fill that position, in which case the hiring freeze doesn't apply. Most likely explanation is that the team wants to convert some red-badge who's already on the team, but need to advertise the position and do some interviewing so they can hire them and say they did their due diligence and they're masking the fact that they're not really considering anyone else by doing it during a hiring freeze.

Do we know when the freeze is getting over? Also any help with paygrade (Basic, RSU, JB) for grade 10 and 11, location SJ will be much appreciated.
Any news on the hiring freeze being removed ?
Does anyone know if this is still going on? I was told that I had gotten an offer, but they can't give me my offer until the freeze is over. The recruiter is ghosting me, but the hiring manager has been in contact saying the role is still on.
it's crazy how they snag any and every person with a heartbeat who claims to be a recruiter, put them through some enormously sh---y training and have them mentored by others who have no time for them, then tell them the freeze won't affect their long term employment with the company. BUT, I've heard that ends today when they reduce the recruiting staff based on who knows what. Accepted this position with the notion it would last a year or more but I've only been here since May. Sucks because I passed on other long term gigs with other companies. Very nice people with Cisco but there does seem to be an underlying current that we're all expendable at someone's whim.
The yearly cycle.
Another year of broken illusions we can staff teams.
All the pretenders have started their yearly show and tell routine to prove their value to the company. Immediately after the layoffs, they will whine about inequality right until late May and commence look busy and pretend you care season.
What about going to an Agile model and do a small layoff every 3 weeks?
Then how would the CFO & CEO impress Wall Street with how much they're saving the company on operational expenses in order to boost stock prices?
Much like every other year, I am sure they will figure out how to lay people off who don't want to be laid off and not lay off the people who want to be laid off. Maybe the new CFO has a system he is bringing in? What about going to an Agile model and do a small layoff every 3 weeks?
This LR will be epic.

It's true. This is to supposedly keep from going into another restructure. Yet we all know the bonus and stock the useless people at the top (chuckie, fran, Maria, Alvio the yes man) will get at Q4 could have and should have been cut immensely. I guarantee that would have saved a large number of positions. What this place has turned into over time is absolutely stunning and sickening.
On the bright side , we still get special HR Pay Parity Woke budget.
So equity can be spread for equal outcomes based on s-x, skin color or who /mamaFran knows.
White males, need not apply, only HR knows the ‘criteria’ for inclusion.
Over 8000 open jobs froze, /removed.
Security sales has already missed the opportunity. I agree with previous posters previously that security sales has an incompetent leader that has no experience in sales at any level. Q3 was a classic example. Q4 is going to be another big miss for her. We should be blowing the numbers out but we simply are not. There is no security sales strategy from her. Every security competitor is growing revenue, bookings, hiring, paying more.
Have you met Cisco employees in security? It's like a used Nissan dealership culture. We aren't stopping Russian hackers.

Isn't security sales & support booming due to the rapid increase in ransom attacks on enterprise networks by Russian hackers? We missed capitalizing on the covid19 pandemic to dominate teleconferencing, now if Cisco can't takeover the security space, it's game over.
Half the issue is our competitors hiring people for more money. Fix the source of the problem.
Why doesn’t our competition pause in hiring.
Sounds like just a pause while we do some workforce planning.
