Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Moving people around

In my area (2 districts) are moving managers around effective July 1. The people they are putting together in one store is raising eyebrows. The GM and 2 SM put together are the weakest we have. The store they have been placed in has the lowest foot traffic and the numbers are sad.

So what is really going on. Putting the weakest managers in one store to turn it around?? OR is this the way to get rid of them as they plan of closing it converting this store.

The other interesting thing is the top bu-t kissing managers have been placed together in the "flagship" store..

Just could be something to keep an eye on in your area..

@OP+1beQtx81 Not that I believe that you have a valid point or observation but I have witnessed the total opposite of scenarios happen. In central Texas recently a DM who has had very poor numbers the last three years was transferred into a top district. This would be his third district assignment. Apparently being buddy buddy with the director can cloak whatever performance level you are at.

Also just out of curiosity how are you measuring the weakness of all these managers ? I mean if everyone is thinking like you are then why would you want a group like that kept around ? Historically Verizon has a history of getting rid of managers without having those hard conversations because everyone thinks they are all friends etc. Nobody wants to be the bad guy so they make things uncomfortable by doing location transfers so it becomes someone else’s mess.
