Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I have never thought layoffs as a blessing in disguise

I have lost three jobs involuntarily and every time I landed, they weren't a good fit. It could be because I was desperate and just took anything as opposed to when I left on my own, the jobs were a perfect fit.
It's better to leave on your own instead of being let go. You're subject to accepting anything and regretting it later.

I agree and wish they would offer packages. I would take one in a heartbeat

Depends on your circumstances I guess. I have a bottle of champagne in the fridge and I'm just waiting for the call. I'd step up and do it voluntarily but unfortunately, that's not on the table. It's definitely better if you change jobs on your terms. Better to negotiate from a position of strength as they say.
