Kurt Lieber only got to be CISO because the prior occupant of that title left for a better opportunity. There was a lot of shake-up in that area at the time, so it was more expedient to just "promote" Lieber.

I've seen many people come from other bank's to WF in the last 12 to 24 months that get promoted to higher roles. Set this example aside because I don't want to get into a race discussion.

I've seen white women who came from another bank get promoted shortly after coming here. And you're like, what did they do so great in the 9 months they've been here?! I think the real issues is, what kind of message does this send to the ranks that someone coming in from another bank gets rewarded so quickly with opportunities while those who do good work and bust their butts here, get looked over. It's quite clear that the new brass have a lot of unconscious bias against anyone who has worked at Wells Fargo for more than a year or two, irrespective of skin color. I have applied for roles that I'm very qualified for and get rejected w/o explanation, but then when I apply to similar roles externally, I get responses that I have a great resume and skill set. So I'm focusing on external opportunities because I'm sick of the BULLSHI! here, and it's pure BULL. The same people who lecture about unconscious bias are the ones perpetuating it to the bone.

If you haven't noticed, almost every single legacy WF leader has retired or left here in the last few years. They don't like those people, they want them out. Because anyone from Chase has all the answers, lol!

Kurt Lieber was here all of a year before he was made CISO, but nobody is upset about that because he is a white dude.

I've been here 12 years and have never been promoted. Must be nice to be here all of a year and promoted to lead a business line.

Tanya is highly regarded in the industry and has years of experience. Talk for the last year has been she was slated to take the role when Laura retired. I push back on the notion she was only hired in the role because of her race. She’s highly qualified and will make a great leader for the org.

If your story is true you, know the work habits of two black people and somehow that means you know the work habits of every black person. Are you just angry? Or is there something more?

Don't use nepotism as an excuse for hiring unqualified individuals into leadership role. Its not just minorities who aren't being promoted its everyone at this company. There's two black people on my team, they work 30min days and they setup endless meetings acting angry for their own failures. If your not hiring the best people based on experience and qualifications your leading your company to disaster. OP is spot on, go thru every recent new executive add and its one of the 3 cases.

"Their race got them the job" Did we not just see that CJ Tolkin is now an executive at what? 30 years old with 6 years of professional experiences. According to a lot of people on this site, there is nothing a minority can do to legitimately earn a promotion. Please stop jumping on minorities for earning and being promoted into management roles. This is not a zero sum game, people move on and/ or new roles are created that provide opportunities for all.

”Sanders has been with Wells Fargo since 2019”

But I thought no one can move up in this company internally?

”Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Sanders was the managing director of Business Operations for Chase Auto”

Oh, that explains it!
