WFH Policy

Is the WFH policy of living within 100 miles of your home office new since Covid? Every job posting that is eligible for telecommute seems to have that listed now. Is the goal to bring back people to the office full time at some point?

I hope they make an exception if they absorb a company with pre-existing employees who already live 4 hours away

It's a rule that has been around for a long time. But as noted, it is unevenly enforced. I knew of several employees in California. No office there.

I think it has always been a policy but it was not enforced evenly. Now they are starting to enforce it. But there are existing good employees who work further away. I assume they get in under the wire but for new roles posted the mileage rule will apply.
