Regardless of WFH or in office, most jobs are being sent to India or the Philippines. They don’t care about expertise or quality of work, cost cutting is the name of the game not only for WF, Chase is expanding their positions overseas too. It’s a no win situation for all of us.

If you’re doing a job that requires Nice software on your computer, you’re feeding the machine. There are other ones too. All of those actions in Nice can be used to train AI. Everything you do is truly being counted or monitored in some way, if it’s being done on a corporate device. Whether you’re home or office, they know what you are doing. “Idle time” warnings and conversations will turn into dings on your MPP.

Being able to do my job from my house versus having a WFIP person able to do it are two very different things.

In the WFIP space there is little critical thinking, they want everything scripted out and if it isn’t covered they freeze and wait for an onshore resource to tell them how to proceed. Since my job requires a lot of critical thinking and technical aptitude, no I’m not too worried.

I would love it if they went to complete offshore on my team, those guys are clueless. I would so enjoy the shitshow they would provide.

Just because my job could easily, and has mostly been, shipped overseas doesn't necessarily mean I'm not required.

The earliest anyone in EGS wants to come in is 6:30 am IST. Even then, they only do it from home because it's near impossible to get to the office that early. Since they're opportunists, they all start at this time so they have longer afternoons/evenings. Due to this most of them avoid working past 3:30 pm IST, as well as all try to work M-F. Just like USA people.

That means if you're a team with weekend coverage, you need state-side people from 6 am ET through 6 pm PT on Saturday and Sunday. That's two full-time jobs on the weekends that state-side people are required to cover because EGS refuses to.

What's to fear? Losing that miserable headache to a year of paid job hunting/reskilling?

Please downsize me already.

My job is easily done at home and from the office. I know they haven’t needed me this whole time. I do the bare minimum to meet expectations. I have zero interest in the longevity of the bank because they have demonstrated that they have zero interest in me. I’ll stay till they tell me to leave. I’ll stick around till I find something better.

I work in corporate risk.

Yeah, they could do the needful from a country where the average IQ is 81 with unreliable utilities and hardly any broadband access.

That’s why you should get a job flipping burgers at McDonald’s. Hard to get offshored doing that
