Shared cubes in office

Will we be expected to share keyboard, mice, and Skype headsets with numerous other people who use the cube?

Having worked in the contact centers before, those chairs can be pretty awful and disgusting. Sweat stained, greasy arms, just plain gross.

On all unassigned seating floors, there will be lockable storage, and the policy is that you can have your own (company funded) keyboard/mouse if you want one, but there will also be one provided at each desk. Headsets will not be shared and you will need to order your own via ePro.

People act like having such concerns is mo--nic. Well, you know what? COVID changed everything.

Even prior to Covid, there were lots of germaphobes that had real issues sharing equipment. I managed to get a direct report to keep her cube because she was so freaked out.

I was flex and the few times I got to the desk I reserved (usually someone was squatting) and yes you are expected to use the equipment others use.

They are so cheap and stingy, of course the regular employees will be expected to share keyboards, mouse, and other basic necessities. Be prepared to buy your own stuff and bring it in every day and spend considerable time sanitizing the hotel cube you get assigned to that day. Now the big wig managers, directors, and senior directors on the other hand will get their own office and not be subjected to this. Just like the ones who who will get an "exception" to still telecommute - It won't be regular employees who are more productive with that flexibility, it will be the managers, directors, etc. who don't do anything all day but kiss up to their boss. The many double standard and preferential treatment business practices by WF will continue.

Just quit and all of your problems will be solved. Even if they are only in your messed up head too. So much whining. Leave already

You will also be required to deposit a quarter in the office stool to flush it, another $.25 to wash your hands.

When i worked hybrid, i had a large drawer with a lock to store my personal items. Mouse/keyboard/chair were all shared but no reason i couldn’t bring my own and store in my drawer.

Most companies have lockers to store that kind of equipment for employees in a flex situation. I’ve only ever had assigned workspaces at Wells and don’t know our practices. I should, because in my current office, where we’d moved just a few months before lockdown, a bunch of employees didn’t make “the cut” (Not enough badge swipes) and had to reserve flex cubes when they came in. Let’s have someone who’s already been flex comment. But as bad as Wells is, I can’t imagine them expected folks to share such equipment. I won’t do it.

In my area there's odd Indian outside consultants who show up in my typical spot at random and use the keyboard, mouse, headset, phone. Who exactly is cleaning up this up daily and can i trust them to do a good job. I mean for the longest time the bathroom was a mess, if they can't clean the bathrooms well here, why on earth should i think they will clean the keyboards and everything else super duper. I wonder if Powell and Charlie are sharing keyboards, mice, phone equipment like the majority of us.

Gross, I'm bringing my own equipment back and forth every day.

Delta variant will be running rampant with the shared equipment. We know there won’t be any deep cleaning of these items. Do we get a stipend to buy our own Clorox wipes?
