I am getting the feels that my manager is about to jump ship. This actually makes me really sad after several recent reorgs, I feel like I landed somewhere I like with a manager I respect. What were the signs you saw?

One clue is that he's a manager. I was at Cisco for 13 years during that time I had 10 different managers and only one of which still works there. They either quit or were fired.
If he/she is actually a good manager then they will be quitting Cisco soon…why would they stay?
Once he tells you with a grumpy face: "enough, I won't touch you no more!"
Really! You will know when he/she quits. Just relax and try to enjoy life as best as you can instead of anonymously whining on layoff boards like a sore loser of a tool.
If my manager quits, I will quit too.
There will be a big offsite group meeting with lots of alcohol. After a few hours of drinks the notification will be made to the group, in person. Then the buzzards will start circling to pick your budget and decide who they are going to LR once your management leaves.
Just before he quits, he becomes cheerful and treats you like a human being.
