Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Worried about next chapter

I don't like starting new jobs. The last company that I worked for was toxicity. I was losing weight and I couldn't sleep at night. I ended up there due to a layoff.
Fast forward, I am laid off again and looking forward to my new job, but at the same time, I have anxiety about where I will end up and what kind of environment it will be.
The last company was horrible.
Anyone else have these feelings? It's a true testament of the grass not always being greener.

Try to walk, get lots of rest and drink lots of water. Physical activity helps emotional well being and walking helps restful sleep. It all ties together synergistically.

Trust me… walk with headphones and music, drink lots of water, get great sleep. Rinse and repeat. Been through it many times and it always works.

Your post is different from most but reflects my situation. I have begun jobs at other places only to find that place to be in a frenzy. I could go on, but good luck.

LOL @ thinking all the stuff on this site is true. I’ve made up a ton of stuff and posted here just to troll people along. I can’t be the only one.

I have never, ever, worked at a place as toxic as WF is right now. I cannot believe the board or occ has not intervened yet. Just reading the things people post on here is sad and proof of it.

Not being flippant when I say… don’t let perfection get in the way of progress. Your next role could be as bad or worse, but it also could be much better. In fact, I think the odds are in favor of “better”. Instead of thinking of it like “I have to find a new job” maybe try “I GET TO look for a new job, while WF pays me to do it.”

It stinks to be displaced but how you frame it to yourself can help. Otherwise, the fear could paralyze you, or at a minimum come across as negativity in interviews.

@gnd. The fact that you would respond to a person with worries about layoffs, and this is a damn layoff site, by the way, with that kind of cr-p says a lot about you.

I don’t think I am that important in the grand scheme of the universe and you know what? Neither are you. But I do have concern for my fellow human beings. I bet you go around unmasked and unvaccinated during a pandemic too. You seem that type.

You have to be f**king WF management, with your total disregard for people.

Sounds like a good run of bad luck. Take some time off to really evaulate where you want to be next.

Its a concern of mine as well. I worked for good long term place with decent culture for over a decade and due to layoffs have had to make moves that keep landing me with companies who hide bad culture as opportunity but wont change once they hire in the people they wanted to help enact change.

I have a new position offer coming but I dont want to parachute into a live fire situation. Again.

You arent alone in this concern
