Normally I understand we don't close on the 4th but it a Sunday? It's the first day people can really go out and be with family.... Oh what was I thinking Verizon doing something nice.... That will never happen

Verizon has never closed on the 4th. They pay you double if you work and pay you for the day if you're off. Verizon has made some trash changes but let's be real here, you're just reaching for anything to complain about

Forgot to add if you work the 5 days at 8 hours a salary plus you get :
40 hours
plus 8 for the holiday.
48 hours total
nothing else as the salary plus is not overtime eligible
To the GM posting about OT and or salary plus good luck with that.
Salary plus gets you nothing unless you WORK over 40 hours
Now as a assistant if you WORK 50 hours this week you get
40 hours of regular pay
5 hours of salary plus hours
8 hours of holiday.
Work 50 hours this week you get paid 53 total hours that's salary plus !!!! cool huh .
It's not closed because it's RETAIL.
To those saying management is “kicking back” the AMs are scheduled for 2 days off this week and remember we get half pay for OT. This GM believe it or not is also working 5 days and he gets nothing for it. I guess it varies by location obviously but the staffing in our area is so bad we don’t really have a choice.
Also if you work in a store your not getting extra pay today unless its just for sunday , not the holiday, tomorrow 7/5 you get premium time and a half pay cause on the books thats the holiday , so if you work on the actual 4th you get zip
Um.. because we’re the Indians in this patriotic situation. We’re the old timers who have lost there land so the settlers(management) can reap the benefits. They have gained independence from paying us. :)
While management kicks back on there long weekend with kh running the show. Just wait more notices will be going in soon. And this help is on the way bs is a joke too many people are leaving and not enough bodies coming in to replace them. The staffing in retail is going to get alot worse before it get better. But enjoy your long weekends with store not hitting there number good luck keeping up second payment on there vacation homes. All of these old legacy folks need to go not like they do anything besides complain and belittle us front line. Yes keyboard warriors and trolls I do plan on taking my talents to south beach soon.
