I totally agree with you. As an example, I am currently on a big contract with a big bank and we use a big integrator as a sub-contractor. For sure they will get any follow on work because their skills are good and they will outbid IBM since they will come in cheaper.

As always, IBM always makes the wrong decisions.

i don't understand the big push to get the big integrators into IBM's accounts, I reckon they will get on board - then take IBM out of the picture, and IBM are inviting them to the table. Talk about getting your competition to eat your lunch. I actually think this is another nail in the coffin

Joke from the past:

How much land does it take to bury IBM?

John Akers was a former CEO of IBM. The CEO just before Gertsner.

Isn't AK already 60 years old (or very close to that)?
If that is the case, his time at IBM should really be short unless the BOD makes a big exception. And why would they when they look at the results so far...

Yes, you are correct. AK is is about 1000 worse than Ackers.
Just wonder which Gerstner will come and save the company this time around. We now know it is not JW. Though who knows, once the board finally realize that AK sucks, they may just go get JW back!

I met John Ackers. He may have not been the best CEO, but he was not arrogant like AK like the fool we have now.
