So we have to make up our own goals. Ok. How about this. My goal is to show up, do the job I am paid for outlined in my job description, and punch out on time.
How does that sound?
You want me to go above and beyond? Oh, ok. And what are you going to do for me? Goes 2 ways. Ya can't keep taking if ya ain't gonna give in return.

My goal-work my 40, be productive during my 40, do all I can during my 40, then go home. Each and EVERY week, including rush. If J qork over 40, we'll the following week I work that number of hours less. There are going to be things that can't get done, oh well.
I have no idea what to list for goals. Increase sales? Well, maybe if we could get merch, or be able to sell Gaurenteed Sales, but they don't respond for up to 10 days, so no customer is going to wait for that when they can go online and get an immediate quote, how about Access? We have no control over that. Yes, we can try and sell it to the faculty, and they might love it, but they don't make the decisions. On that note, why are we selling a product that we have no answers to basic questions our customer may ask (price, timeline, IT needs), and the faculty have no say-it is up to the administration of the school. Anyone have ideas of what we should list? Increase diverisity in the store? We don't do the hiring-so we have no control over that either. Suggestions?
Right? Hard to have a diverse work force when you're the only employee in your store. I guess I'll include myself in more things.
Though, I guess when you count the outsourced Follett Support Center and Customer Service people who barely speak English, our workforce is quite diverse.
"Elevate and support a more inclusive work environment and diverse workforce."
What a silly and thoughtless goal to assign store managers.....given that we're not even responsible for hiring for Fall 2021, and probably not Spring 2022. Why should I be accountable for the hiring practices of the temp agency that is hiring for us?
I'm just sitting here wondering why they are coming up with more BS assignments like this "set your goals" cr-p. As if we have time. When have they ever had us do this prior? And they think it is a good time to start now? When stores have very limited to no staffing at all? Stupid.
Yep. I know I've gone above and beyond my job description, and I've been loyal, but I still make way less than people in my position who have no experience and have been on the job a day. My regional or anyone at home office will not speak to me. I haven't decided on whether to make super easy goals or sarcastic super difficult ones since I don't plan on being here in 2022. I know that Follett is taking advantage of me, but also I know enough to make them lose a lot of business, so why would they do that?
