I am more productive at home and work ethic has nothing to do with it. I don't spend hours each day stuck in traffic and the stress it brings. My home is in way better shape than the building I work in. My home office is quiet and undistrubed by watercooler conversations and drop-in visitors. My toilets flush out of my bathrooms. My coffee maker is clean and only 20 feet away. There is no mold in my ventilation system and the carpet is brand new. And I don't have to walk a quarter mile to get lunch. I'm much more relaxed due to the situation. And that makes for better productivity.

You're the exception. I've gotten lean and mean. No interruptions form drop-ins and trying to yell over my deaf neighbor's Team meetings. No stressful commute. Less cost for gas, maintenance, lunch, etc. Why go back to a moldy ro--h motel to take meetings with people on the other side of the world? You can do that from anywhere.

Puhlease! India can't pour pi$$ out of boot if the instructions are stamped on the heel. They require constant babysitting and don't have the experience needed to be productive.

@mm1 I work from home and I too get very little support from those same groups. Most of those folks don't work in US. And many are untrained and don't know what to do. I spend my day helping others all day and evening in other countries and trying to teach the new folks how to do things. The RIF action last year left many functions unmanned or single point failure. I tell managers all the time when things don't get done that we need people. Typically no reaction.

Y'all can make all the excuses you want to skip the commute & work in your jammies, but over the past year, support for on-site workers has taken a drastic hit due to WFH policy. You name it, IT support, HR, parts-supply chain, engineering, etc. has made life much more difficult for us worker bees.

As a result, we have to try and do more with less in order for the Officers of the Titanic to make their bonus and stock-option targets. More stress on us too having to put up with draconian pandemic restrictions and having to work mandatory 25% OT & weekends, often for straight time, just to make the numbers. Having WFH return to work should help everyone involved and also sort out the de@dwood from the living...

I don’t mind returning to the office despite having no interactions with people onsite. I will sit in the cavernous empty space that is my work area. There was nobody there in 2019 and I don’t expect any body in June.
What I hate is the need to pack a lunch again. There isn’t much in the way of amenities left after they closed the cafeterias and local businesses failed.

Be careful what you wish for. India is ready and open for US businesses, including working remotely at cheaper cost

What has Honeywell HR been doing for the past year where they need to wait for everyone come back to the office before they make adjustments to the WFH policy?

And, as for those of you that say you have been more productive at home, than in in the office, that tells us sooo much about your personal work ethic.

Oh just shut up, and do the job you are paid to do already. Otherwise, quit, and good luck to you.

So those of you that enjoy working from the office or have to for your position then good for you and go ahead back to the office or stay there. As for me I am a working mom with kids at home and it’s been so much easier for to get things done with my job WFH and I feel like we should just have the option. I can do literally everything from home and have been more productive this past year than I have ever in my working career at Honeywell. I work with no one from my location that does my job and I’m pretty much a team of one since all my colleagues retired quit or were laid off. The least Honeywell can give me besides their horrible insurance benefits is the ability to have flexibility and be able to WFH. If there’s a need to come in the office I can make arrangements for the day, but I honestly have no reason to ever be there in person full time.

Onsite worker bees have seen a dramatic decrease in support over the last year from those who have been WFH. Be it IT, HR, parts supply chain, engineering, etc.

To make matters worse, our oppressors demand the same or increased output to make their bonus targets. So that means delays, trying to find less than ideal workarounds, increased stress, and mandatory overtime often for straight time pay...

When I have to go back to office Hon will get 2 hours less work from me per day. Over the past few years I now spend about 70% of my time dealing with people in India, PR, Mexico and Asia. Customer. Support and procurement is transitioning to EM. I worked on site 22 years until last year. I can do 100% of my job from home. I don't have to touch arts in my role.

I think what we are finding is those of us who have had to WFH have gotten soft(myself included). Been WFH for 15 months now, but I do want to go back and would have rather have still worked from the office. Been working since I was a young teen, so I enjoy working and getting out of the house. Also had a lot of family medical issues during the last 15 months, so the time at home has definitely worked for me and mine. Did keep up with my work and actually gave at least 10 hours per day since I did not have to waste time driving. I have gained about 13 lbs not being able to use the gym, but working to get my physical discipline back as well. Gonna be a learning curve having to get up shower, get in the car, and drive to the office again, but I welcome the getting back the daily discipline. No more sleeping till 7AM, working in my pajamas, and taking a shower at 4PM-LOL

Those of us who had to continue to work onsite over the past year see this as good news...
