Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Do any of you check out the Verizon page on here?

There’s a huge controversy about work from home going on there. It got so bad the mods ended up deleting a bunch of posts and comments. From what I can tell, Verizon wants to keep its call centers home and the members want it. The crazy part is the union. They want their members to go back and have gone so far as to spread vaccine denialism and Covid hoax beliefs.

Has a previous poster stated :

"It's pretty simple, non-union Wireless customer service and telesales is work from home permanently. People live it. Union wireline call centers aren't permanent and most likely won't be. You do the math"

Why do think that is? I will tell you, those of us that were sent to go WFH permanently are sitting ducks. It is only a matter of time before we get outsourced. The systems are constantly crashing or not working properly. Our numbers are not correct. Leadership doesn't give a f. This is indicative of a company that plans on keeping WFH on payroll.

Work at home has been a success, if the company who sales products and services to aide businesses in a work at home model can't back their OWN workers working at home???? What the actual F? Verizon will lose all credibility. I spent most of lockdown helping sell and set up business customers in a work at home model for their work force, now you want me to go into an office? Make ZERO sense.

Hah. The union is out for themselves as they always have been. How are they gonna force people to strike and picket if they work from home. Are they gonna demand that people picket outside of their own homes. The union is not for the employee. They are for dues money and power. This proves it. Unions are worse than worthless.
