In the context of application at the Crystal Palace, the "power" part means seeing and speaking to people of power in your EM realm, not exercise. So these d bags waste time trying to be seen and heard around campus by chance meetings, not by their "work". Pathetic. I really hope we have real changes coming our way!

Maybe I date myself, but the main goal of Powerwalking is at the end of the day my supervisor's supervisor's supervisor says:
That'll do, pig. That'll do.

Power Walking leads to Total Disability separation - try it on day 1 with the company.
After 2-4 years and age 26-28, the payout is equal to a Retiree's 30 yrs / 60 old in the monthly payments. More, if you're in Health.
Monthly deposits until 98 or eventual demise. 70 years!
In sum: it pays off, I can tell you.
Pip pip.

Power walk is how you escape HW3! if they can never find where you are working because you are TRULY mobile (and with great cardio), you won't get classified as being in a high cost location and will dodge any PIP to drive salary arbitrage. Although, I feel power walking is LTA. I propose POWER SPRINTING. SPRINTS are also used in AGILE so you are double winning.

XOM is so messed up now that some people do actual work while others socialize, drink coffee and are full time politicians all day. The latter are the power walkers. They are hardly at their desk and can be found in meetings, in the gym or at another employees desk chatting about nothing meaningful. Sad thing is those brown noses are the ones getting promoted.

From the glossary:
A method of gasping for air.
Individual mass turbulation when living and posting in a vacuum.
Picking nits from one's own scalp without end. Lonely monkey syndrome (LMS).

Brown nosing your boss is generally ineffective. For your boss you need to do an excellent job. Now your bosses boss that is a different situation. They are the real decision makers in your career and need to know what a great job you are doing and that you really respect them.

Power walking is when you corner your supervisor or his boss in the elevator and shove your nose so far up their a-s that it leaves a brown mark.

Power walking is when you go out for a walk during the day at work hoping to run into a powerful person to politic with. Same thing as riding the elevators just so you can get 30 seconds in with executives. You can tell them what you are working on and how great they are. If you do this enough you will get promoted.

@OP It is a form of aerobic exercise that entails walking at a faster than usual pace, typically approaching the pace of a light jog. It is sometimes performed while carrying lightweight d-mbbells.

I’m not sure what it has to do with layoffs at Exxon. You’re going to have to figure that out on your own.
