Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Just announced mandatory Saturday July 3 before holiday

It was just announced today at Aero Olathe site mandatory overtime. Can you believe this! I wonder who is driving this , local or corporate management?
I’d appreciate everyone’s comments.

Thank you Honeywell for letting me take Saturday off. I will remember to do make up the missed unpaid mandatory overtime by working even more unpaid mandatory overtime all next week. Thank you Honeywell for this opportunity for a 1.25% raise and maybe I wont be laid off next month.

Nothing is really mandatory. You don't HAVE to do anything. Personal choice and decision. Stay at Honeyhell and work the OT or walk.

Ahab's ship was the Pequod. The Bounty's captain was Bligh.

The mandatory OT should tell you what a looming disaster Q2 is. All for Wall Street, baby!

Some of us actually have families and a personal life. I have zero doubt that your personal life is so miserable that you would rather hide & brown nose management in a building that you need an umbrella to work in. Besides, many of us take a day off here and there and then we DO NOT get paid time and a half until we make 40 hrs. that week!

Tis true! Cap'n Ahab had his officers berate the swabs today with his latest missive. Just to make sure that there was no mutiny, he also ordered us to start working 25% Mandatory OT starting next week, and if you can't get it during the week, well then you better come in on Saturday and Sunday!

All this when the rats are still fleeing the Bounty and they can't even get contractors to work here. Cap'n Ahab said that the good news is that beatings will continue until morale improves.

BTW -- if you don't work Saturday this week, then forget about working Memorial Day!

Confirmed. Also, you must work this Saturday in order to work Memorial Day. Mandatory OT starts next week. This will not be in writing!

With this kind of harassment and the low wages is it any wonder that people continue to abandon ship and they can't even hire contractors?!

@rqe: The shop floor overtime junkies always work the extra hours when they can get them. It's always been that way.

What ya'll need to do, is not work that day, and watch as they do not actually follow through with any discipline.

@vxh

That poverty mentality again! We should be working to live, not living to work!

Whats wrong with having overtime anyway? Getting paid, aren't you. As long as its paid, one should treat that as a blessing rather than a frown.

You can put a PC correct term on it but mandatory it is and overtime it is.. so what is unclear?
@ufn you sound like a Director.

Why that’s bad? Unemployed workers need your sacrifice. Go Olathe

  • and your supervisor really needs to stop using that phrase "mandatory overtime". Because, that is not what it actually is....

Haven't heard anything about this, so maybe not even site wide? I won't be working that day, so whatever.
