Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

How many will quit

I’m wondering how many will quit if their stores don’t do layoffs in June? Like who all is waiting for June to see if there is layoffs?

@mad+1b2yNY7V Correct and they still have to pay everyone who was working that day. Not being aggressive in hiring because of obvious low headcount is a clear indication something is up. The only logical explanation is an indirect takeover. If you notice online there are a lot of indirect Verizon jobs available.

Lol my DM would do everything but work a store herself before letting it close

Based off of the current training, verizon is ok with closing stores for the day or changing stores hours if staffing isn’t there as a fix. This is going to be confusing for customers. Weird why verizon doesn’t want to address the actual problem, but just patch it temporarily.

The 4k my base pay doesn't make up for the 8k they took from base commission. So unless you NEVER exceeded commission and most of those people aren't with the company anymore... Everyone took a pay cut.

21 1/2 years in this place sucks but only gotta do 8 1/2 years left 30 years in or at minimum 6 to put minimum 28 years in. If your under 5 years or even 10 you can earn more going elsewhere just honestly for the ones like myself I gotta eat a little more humble pie it is what it is life isn't fair

No the below information is correct not everyone took a pay cut. Most hourly pay went up 1.00 - 2.00. The last year corporate retail was on individual commission 50% of reps made their at risk or fell below. I can see the point the person is trying to make. Those are hard facts but those other 50% of reps definitely lost money and some in upwards of 30-40k a year.

The below is wrong. Almost every rep too a pay cut. Don't kid yourself

Max exodus ? Why would you think that when over 50% of reps are making
more money now then on the old commission plan ? Plus you have to remember that 15-20% of the previous workforce has left the retail stores to work in telesales, CS and other jobs. Most of those reps were the ones making 3-4k checks. So do i think some reps would entertain severence packages ? Of course but not nearly as many as this board would lead you
to believe.

@owt+1b2yNY7V Yeah that’s part of the problem. I know several reps in my district who have 15 -20 plus years on the job who aren’t going anywhere. They speak as though they are miserable and want a package but when push comes to shove they aren’t going to leave. At least be honest with yourself . They know full well that nobody is going to hire them as an entry level hourly paid employee at $30 an hour because that is what most of them are averaging if not more.

18 years in, I'd stick around for awhile. 3 years in, not so much.

the idea of forcing a mass exodus instead of offering more severance packages is starting to look more real every day.
