We all know it's SunTrust dragging down BB&T. Some of us "d-mb hicks" actually know how to pull off a merger (having successfully completed many LARGE acquisitions). It'd be a lot easier if the SunTrust id--ts weren't so stuck in their endless processes from he-l that go nowhere and serve no purpose, and would just get out of the damn way and let us do what we do best....oh but wait they're in charge now and need to tell us what to do. big eye roll

#5... that is hilarious being that the “ Country Bank” bought ST 🤣🤣🤣🤣 both are now doomed to mediocrity because of this buy out.

@vwl my money is on #5 buying them more time and in a couple of years rebrand back to SunTrust or to SunTruist!

And another week to play the “what happens FIRST game”:

  1. The Truist name is changed to something bad, but at least not cringe worthy…TrustSun.
  2. The pension is frozen (executives will be made whole, obviously)
  3. The headquarters moves to Atlanta (SunTrust leadership believes they belong in Manhattan, but the city doesn’t want them).
  4. The Leadership Institute is quietly shuttered, and an “unfortunate” paint spill covers Kelly King’s name in front of the building
  5. The upcoming bank performance issues will be investigated fully and objectively, with the root cause determined to be “that country bank BB&T just not able to integrate with a real

financial institution”. Unanimous solution - most of remaining BB&T leadership purged.

So, what comes first?
