There used to be at least some kind of work-life balance here. Then we had layoffs after layoff after layoffs and now most of us are stuck doing the work that should be done by three people. I might be okay with this if the pay followed the increase in work, but it never does. I'm about ready to walk out myself. I'll feel sorry for my coworkers who'll then have even more work but I'm about done.

When it comes down to it, we all have to think about ourselves. You should leave if you are in a bad place. The other people should leave too. That is the only way that things change. The management will squeeze to see what they can get away with. Just sitting there and putting up with that only emboldens the management to squeeze more.
You should get out.
The answer is "Oracle is my family".
My manager ask the following question before, “Between Oracle and family, which one come first?”, what answer you think he expecting?
Quit crying and get back to work. Or better yet - quit crying and go work somewhere else.
Car allowance was taken away due to abuse by a salesman in Chicago area who had allowance, and covered parking fees and train commuting expenses. Oops, got caught and everyone else suffered. That's Saffra's magic touch she brings to the table, she analyzed the spreadsheets. And Larry's wizard hand, "ki-l it". Team spirit, who needs it, waste of money. Let's have some logo color changes for OOW.
On top of that, many ‘perks’ of the job have long since been pulled away by the spreadsheet analyst who run (ruin) the show. Things like a car allowance, or having a team meal for the last day of quarter. Things that might save a penny, but taking them away changes the balance toward making us into just a commodity.
