I have not been been in the company for long but have seen several ‘leaders’ openly discriminating against employees with no consequence. HR is non existent, every response is talk to your supervisors. And the supervisors and managers are the problem! Some ‘hi–pos’ on ‘fast track’ act so arrogantly. Have seen it in many forms, gender, race and it goes unnoticed.
Asking to check if this a prevalent problem in this company because of its ‘Texas’ roots and the fact that most VPs, presidents are from remote, unknown universities with extremely conservative backgrounds. Are we really a global company or its a sham? From several forums in the past it is clear that diversity is an issue in higher level exec positions and the ones who make it are used for show and tell purposes and more often than not are incompetent yes men/ women. Example, a President in Upstream.
I am all for diversity, when practiced ethically, is this another area where we continue to fail our employees by sugar coating the reality? Looking for good discussion points and hopefully some awareness of such issues in the company around the world, no trolling on this sensitive subject please
