Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

When do May layoffs start?

I heard that they're calling the May RIF The Big One, and in my experience whenever a layoff event is given a name, it's not a good sign for anyone...

Some layoff silently happened this week in Australia.

I can confirm that planned layoff targets for April and May have been significantly reduced because of dramatically accelerated attrition (self-departures/self-deportation) by Oracle employees. This is because of an improving economy in recovery from COVID.

Skilled Oracle employees are walking out daily to positions with much higher salaries and compensation.

This is fortunate, and unfortunate.

From my perch on the sixth floor of the 500 building in Redwood Shores, this is the Ax-Man, signing off.

Will there really be that many people left to lay off before they just walk out? Seems like there's enough people can't run out the door fast enough to waste their time waiting for a RIF to get to a better job/company.

Stack ranking?! Most modern companies jettisoned that policy.

People have started reporting they’ve been let go on other threads.

Also in OCI the senior management has started pushing for bottom 20% push out via stack ranking implementation. Starting soft now, but policy will firm up and expand to other groups like Ax Man reported last week. I can confirm this. All of it.

I’m sure if that was the Ax Man he would have signed his post. So it’s more likely a troll.

There will be some significant RIF in May (following the end of April RIF) to get numbers in order ahead of the end of the fiscal year. Mostly corporate marketing, some sales (regionally and class of program) and legacy orgs such as hardware and support.

After the end of the fiscal year and going into FY 2022, Miranda’s apps org will be hit, a lot of developers of non-essential apps and support will be shown the door. Downward pressure will be kept on regional teams throughout the fiscal year.

The Sun campus in Santa Clara will be put on the market in FY 22, but it is going to be a tough sell.

More FUD.

Has anyone started the June layoff thread yet?

Probably at the same time January, February, March and April mass layoffs began.

I'll give the posters credit. After nothing happens in May, they be back spreading FUD about June mass layoffs.

Oracle rarely lays off in the 3rd month of the last quarter of the fiscal. That said, the plans are set in stone for FY22 and the winds of change are in the air!

The comments remind me of the movie "Happy Gilmore".....

Shooter:
"Just stay out of my way or you'll pay listen to what I say"

Happy:
"How bout I eat some hay I can make things out of clay or lay by the bay I just may what do you say?"

lol

But in all seriousness if May is "The Big One" I am sure it will all be posted here when it happens.
