Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

It’s funny that Verizon HR has brainwashed so many people to think unions are evil. Hrs biggest talking points for not joining a union are all gone now. “You won’t be able to participate in our sales contest if you join the union” and now we have none. “You have to pay just to be in the union” behind close doors my manager tells me I have to work and not be paid! “ Unions will promise things they can’t deliver” bi—h you’re already doing that! I have two law suits Verizon is trying to settle and keep out of a trial and it’s been a nightmare. Verizon will never be on your side

im a ATT employee, CWA is the only union out her that I know of fighting for wireless worker and helping to bridge the gap of inequality of wages and many other things. ive heard stories of past griefs but I can honestly say things have changed for the better. they know this industry best, it just takes you as the worker getting involved and building with your coworkers and stand together to fight the boss on things you dont agree with. somethings you can change right away some takes time. we are in the same industry and there is no reason you you Verizon Wireless workers are not union like us. join us in making this industry better and equitable for all. we are stronger if we join together! y'all just have to take the first step and get organized. dont believe the trash the company tells you its all just scare and deter. Get involved y'all! lets change this industry with the backing of CWA!

Really the only problem is the only union that caters to us is CWA and they are basically a leach that doesn’t do anything useful. ATT has them and their employees are still getting rammed in their butts. If there was union that was actually decent then people would join.

You mean like when verizon gave me the option to return to the store telling me this is the compensation only to continually change the RIS survey target and my compensation? You are lucky I take care of the customer when they are in front of me. Because verizon has done nothing to keep the customer happy. Then they take away my money because telesales made promises we can't keep? Sound messed up to me!! When is this RIS disaster lawsuit going to hit? It is one thing to reward us for excellence but to actually take away our compensation because of issues out of my control. Redicilous.

You don’t make anything in their sales contests anyways, what a funny way to incentivize not joining a union while stripping away everything that made this job decent.
