Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

No room for growth

I've been stuck as a personal banker for a while now and I know I have no chance of moving up. I'm not best friends with anybody in management nor am I related to any of them, so I'm stuck most likely forever. Anything else would require I develop some but kissing skills and I have no intention of doing that. For some of us, self-respect is still a thing.

It's time to leave, even SVPs are planning their exodus before year-end. They took away a lot of your incentives and dumped more work on you. Frankly, I'm sick of all of them and I plan on leaving soon, life too short to put up with this hot mess.

It's the same at any company. If you hit a ceiling and can't move to a new lateral role to advance, get a major pay bump and go to another company.

This move got me a 30% increase when I moved to Truist. However, if you have good relationships, you may want to see if you can network to another role.
