Enbridge Canadian Employees on Social Media and Their Comments

A word to the wise. Enbridge fully supports all provincial and federal Covid protocols, including lockdowns and vaccinations. Many employees have been filling their social media pages with comments against lockdowns, against masks, against vaccinations etc etc. While it is a free world and employers can't take termination measures against employees due to their comments, they can subtly limit their career advancements and future bonuses. I for one am watching what my employees state, as are an entire group of Managers. We are sharing the names and the list is quite long. Decisions on future roles are being determined based on your comments. I for one have lost friends due to Covid and there is no place for any comments or actions unless they get us to the end of this.

Understand that as long as Covid is circulating and people are not all vaccinated, masks, social distancing etc will remain in place at work. Per Provincial Safety Requirements, the Company must ensure no one get sick at work. Thus this will continue. It will go on for the rest of this year for sure and on into next year. Work from home is definitely coming to an end. Employees will be required to report back to work. Dont think for a minute the working from home will continue BUT protocols will stay in place until people are vaccinated and risks are removed.

Do your research on these MRNA “ vaccines” and get your heads out of your as--s. If a blood clot doesn’t get you in a year or less it will break down your immune system as designed. What a bloody scam this whole plandemic has been. Free speech is ki---d too. What a bunch of blind fools that think the masks and social distancing and these untested “vaccines” are the answer.
The real pandemic is how stupid people are.

You have no basis on which to expect freedom of speech on a privately run forum.

I'm certainly not naive. And I believe you. But we're talking about Enbridge at this point, and their corporate behaviour. Please don't extend my description of the situation beyond those borders. They won't apply.

Well your pretty naive. At my company, which I own, the corporate direction is that everyone gets vaccinated. Those who don’t, while I can’t terminate them for that reason, will be career limited for sure.

I have a business to run and can’t afford the ongoing precautions, whether you agree with them or not ( I do ) that we are forced to follow. All your complaining and protesting will not change that. Plus this is something for the greater good. To not protect society is selfish at the highest level

I can only speak for oh, say, 40 leaders from supervisor to director, and this post sounds like hogwash to me. Nobody's sitting around googling their reports' posts on vaccines. That's ridiculous.

It's also telling that the poster talks about "subtle" repercussions like stifled career growth. What a nice way to shovel responsibility for mediocrity onto some third party. Couldn't be that they've already maxed out the Peter Principle... has to be because they posted two years ago that a vaccine wouldn't be right for them. No evidence, of course, but none needed. Remember, the nefariousness is... subtle...

People fail to realize the implications of what they put on social media. Any company has the right to monitor social media of employees if they make it easy to view.

If they don’t align with corporate values, of course they will make note of it. Foolish to not think that will happen.

I do the same at my Company, plus I always look at job applicants social media presence when deciding if they will get an interview. If it doesn’t align with corporate values, they will not get an interview nor a response.

Again I find it so hard to believe people do not think this happens.

I’ve heard that Orwell’s 1984 is a Pre-requisite read to enter Enbridge management ranks.

I guess embracing dystopia as a core value is filtering through the ranks effectively from the top.

Absolutely right. Go against company values in your social media accounts at your peril.

Employers can and will monitor employees social media accounts to ensure that they support the company's values. Conduct yourself accordingly.
