In my location customers didn’t observe the sign anyway. I live in an area that doesn’t believe covid is anything other than a flu, although many well known and loved members of our community have died from it. Also, I’m the only member of the team that has been vaccinated because my coworkers “don’t trust it”. In my area, clinics and health care professionals are basically begging people to get vaccinated because we have a lot of vaccine availability and citizens that won’t take it. Our leadership knows the danger we face and have faced every day, but no one helps us. Everyone is pretending like it’s perfectly reasonable to have BAU, so let them have it. A lot of companies are looking for employees with the skills Verizon employees have, because we are very versatile. Don’t feel like the Verizon retail store is the only option for you, because Verizon is just going to replace you with someone getting paid half of what they pay you if/when you leave. Don’t believe me? Ask any newer reps at your store what their base pay is (especially if you are tenured).

Well,it happened last night in a corporate store with 1 Sm and 2 Ss from 6 to 8pm. The situation was dangerous for the 2 reps working. The incompetent email that was sent out produced at least 25 customers that obviously believed everything thing was back to normal. The SM could not handle the influx of people thus a lot people were wandering around the store in family groups to buy 1 phone because the Sm was engaged with people and could not be at the door to;"greet". It became uncomfortable when the customers that were wandering realized they're not being helped and started to stare at the 2 reps trying to wade thru the mess. Then 1 loudmouth started to yell I've been here for 20 minutes ( actually 5) with the words "Are you people Trained " over and over ,( I thought no not in the science of cloning ourselves to have adequate staff numbers) for this onslaught. Another yelled " Whats going on here"!So when we finally got control of the situation and started the queue again and asked the people to wait in the cars ( over capacity) 1 guy waited 50minutes? I told him he could have went on the My Verizon app and picked up his iPhone and he would have been home now.This in a small store environment in a state were there are 3,559 new cases with 45 deaths( NJ ) which is no 1 in covid new cases in the country, by the way the new varient is putting 30 and 40s year Olds in hospital ( Washington post April 7) That email should have not been sent out at this time until the staffing is improved.
