“No I in team” is a philosophy invented by bad managers. When they don’t care that one person works and five don’t as long as job’s done. If that one dares to question what the heck is that, he gets “No I in team” or gets shamed as a “not a team player”. Real team is all about an Individual contribution and Individual accountability. So there is I in team. This kind of team impossible without a strong, smart and fair leader. That’s why we don’t see it often.
Author @1sxo+1acyo5T3. You accurately described my own problem here. I eventually became a “team player” when I stopped expressing my opinions and giving suggestions. I have a feeling that the more teamwork is emphasized, the less real team spirit there is.
