I've been with the bank three and 1/2 years and joined even while knowing the mistakes it had made. I like my job. I'm great at it and no kidding, as a single woman and type A, I work really hard for the organization. Despite ramming in 60 hours weeks for a year during the pandemic, a good portion of my area will be outsourced soon.
So my fingernails are bitten to a quick. I'm interviewing too. I dont want to leave, but I'M IT for paying my mortgage.
I've applied for jobs externally. Not a bite from any other company. I DONT WANT TO GO.
I'd just like to wake up one day soon and not worry about my job. My boss has told me, we are going to be impacted, but how much, she doesnt know. It's awful to live this way.
No kidding, every day I do a good job because that is how I lay my head down peacefully at night. But every evening I apply for jobs and hope I dont lose my home.
Oh, and Wells owns my mortgage, so I want to say "And please dont take my home either".
I'm 53. I have 17 more years to work and 10 years left on my mortgage.
Do I start over? Man oh man I hope not. It was hard enough at 50 to start again.
And get this: Despite being a recent empty nester, and the middle of a pandemic, living alone save a housefull of cats, I've given my all to the goals of this company the last year. 100% remote and alone. ALONE.
But they are next transformationing my dept.
My BITTEN fingernails hurt. My dedication....not worth anything. Wallstreet and C suite couldnt care less about my plight.
It. Just. Makes. Me. Sad.
Tomorrow, I'll get up and do another damn good job. And I'll keep applying.
If you see me, I'm the tired girl who helped the rest of you go remote and keep your jobs during the pandemic.
Signed: HR.
