I've been here 16 years and here's why I'm not currently looking:
- 30 days of PTO is hard to give up. Not sure what other places offer, but I'm in a job where I can easily use my PTO and give my manager fairly short notice that I'll be taking off 2 weeks if needed.
- Long Term Compensation/Incentives (i.e. restricted shares or RSRs). If you get these, you know what I'm talking about. They vest over 4 years, and since I get them every year, I'd be giving up a good chunk of shares to leave. If I get laid off, they all vest immediately.
- 401(k) matching is pretty good, but does s— that it's done at the end of the year now.
- I actually like my job, manager/team, have been working from home full time for 10+ years, and have a good relationship and reputation within my LOB. Not really interested in starting over at a new place unless I'm forced to.
- I know that all jobs have their ups and downs and I'd just be trading current issues and dislikes for new ones if I left.
- I work in ICS and could easily find a job, probably making more money, but what other tangible benefits would I be giving up?
