Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Tell me I’m wrong…

So Verizon rolls out one team. Why? So that when stores go indirect they are under the same leadership.

Verizon intentionally makes retail uncomfortable and removes all personal sales incentives. Why? Because tenured reps would quit which lowers the expected payout of severances. Also, once stores become indirect there would be an upside to individual quotas again if you stay working for the agent. Along with a bonus to stay which again helps limit payout for severance.

Verizon after creating a toxic retail channel issues the quarterly survey by a third party and pressures people to take it. Why? So that when the results are in just in time for the sell off of retail they can say their famous BS line. “You spoke, we answered.” Painting them as a hero.

Verizon adds 1000 new reps. Why? So when the expected amount of reps quit stores will still function with lower head count.

Haha, they are starting to seem pretty desperate for us the refer our friends. Good luck with that. I would never tell a friend to sign up for this. “You can work part-timer” , “add lots of stress” and “make very little commission”. Pass.

The announcement of the 1,000 new jobs was a bunch of smoke and mirrors fluff. What Verizon didn’t announce was that over a 1,000 reps quit over the past year. Facts !

Even if they truly did hire 1000 new people that's less than a half a rep per store, we have over 2300 stores, and they are all going to be part time, so of those 1000 you can expect half to quit before their 3rd month and probably another 30 percent to drop by 6 months, nobody is going to do this sh-t and put up with the cr-p we put up with for $13.50 an hour and $ 400 a month in commission.

Sad but true. Every time I see a headline. “ you spoke, we listened” i always roll my eyes because we know it’s about to not benefit us.

Once those survey results come back, we will know if the information was sifted through. Ain’t no one in retail happy. Not even SS,SM,GM, DM
