Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

HP Inc. Puerto Rico ceasing operations. Local HPE operations to follow.

It's official: HP Inc. Puerto Rico will be ceasing operations starting November of this year and ending on April 2022. Severance will equal 3 months salary plus two weeks per year, up to a maximum of 9 months (or basically, up to a years salary for people with more than 15 years of service).

Hewlett Packard Enterprise has local operations as well. Rumors are a similar announcement will be made around the end of Q4'2021 (either on September or October).

Local HPE operations in Puerto Rico are pretty strong (~800 jobs) and the rumors of us closing as well are nonsense. Nothing to be worried about.

Many knew this was coming. I wonder how they will replace the PR tax advantage. HPE/HPI saves a chunk of taxes routing orders through PR (and having some some number of technical people there.) Everything gets built elsewhere in the Americas but they claim the orders go to PR.

Weird but legal. Yes, the US government paid companies to keep jobs in PR.
