VSP= a security escort off the property
I would keep an eye on the cap. Some years back it was reduced to a 35 week cap without any hr announcements or fanfare. Once discovered by management employees, the news spread fairly quickly.
VSP is the past. No need to rehash it. If you took it, great. If you tried to take it and got shot down, probably great too since you still have a job in a now-crazy economy. If you didn't, then it just doesn't matter.
VSP had 3 weeks per Year of service. 60 weeks cap. (Ie 20 years X 3).
Management severance looks many times better than the EISP rug pull game Verizon loves to torture the union rank and file with. No BS union tax on your paycheck either.
OP, you signed your query “Tired”.
What are you tired from? Watching subordinates work, and your mindlessly adding meaningless bean-counting redundant red tape minutia to get in the way of their trying to work and accomplish something meaningful?
Mgmt severance pay has been capped at 35 weeks, (plus unused accrued vacation) for many years, nothing has changed
