Threatened to quit

After almost a year of being micromanaged to a point of harassment I had to threaten to quit just to get one of my managers off my back. He was an absolute nightmare. I’ve been here long enough to know exactly what I’m doing. I don’t need to be given instructions as if I’m a day one employee on every single thing. The fact that he has the time to follow me around the whole day only means that he has nothing to do. For now, he has backed off but we’ll see how long it lasts.

Sounds like he’s singling you out. Call hr and say exactly that. Say that he is harassing you and you feel threatened. I had the same issue with an sm. Hr straightened him out real quick.

You need to position to HR as you are documenting against the company for actions or in her case lack of action to protect you from harassment. HR protects the company not the employees.
