Another Mass Re-Org For FY22 For Sales

So it looks like starting this week, the rumors are that leadership is under NDA for another massive round of changes with a re-org, territory/account changes, and comp plan changes that have been ironed out and will be rolled out June 1st. If this is anything like two years ago, then teams and organizations will be terminated or given 30 days to find new roles. I am not sure if this a global rollout or just for US sales teams.

Is anyone getting wind of impeding changes for FY22 from a sales, engineering, and technical teams perspective? If the past is any indication, when no one is saying anything, that means something big is coming down for the FY.

SMB cloud sales is inheriting more accounts. They’re focusing on verticals and smaller account sets for each employee so that you can dive deeper into accounts. Some teams will focus on install accounts, a couple will focus on large ISV’s but the bulk of the reps will focus on net-new greenfield accounts

License will be split, existing accounts (maintenance) and greenfield (short term assignment).

Hearing the same same industry vertical alignment will be happening in Apps as well. Haven’t heard anything specific about a RIF but it makes sense since things are being consolidated.

  1. A. OCI Sales for Enterprise and Mid-Market will be consolidated and aligned by industries. MD will end up with only half of the industries (though with more accounts) he has now and KT will end up with the remaining half of industries. Unclear how many heads will be axed in the process, but clearly, much of middle management (RMs, RVPs) will naturally be made redundant. Also unclear what if anything happens on the License/HW and Apps sales orgs.

Sales will have to complete additional technical certifications.
Sink or swim.

Couldn’t agree more! Customers are confused. We are confused!

Yes our wonderful leadership once again will shake up sales, engineering, and technical teams. Get ready for Q1 chaos while we figure why the he-l these changes were made and how it all works, so once again we are quarter behind and our customers wonder why we keep changing teams on them. If we didn't have decent products, I am sure this company would be out of business. It makes no sense to keep changing things with no continuity or strategy year over year. This is why our top employees leave, and our most non-productive employees keep staying....FOR YEARS including some of the worst leaders (if you can call them that) in the industry. Get ready for another unnecessary re-org for FY22.

Yes, it is wonderful and magical time! In one fell swoop, the oracle management rats will fix all that has plagued the company! Hooray!

The issues are all due to a simple lack of training - nothing a few weeks of June immersion training won’t cure. Mark the last half of June off on your calendars now. To pass the training you will be required to submit a video presentation of yourself delivering the latest cloud marketing pitch.

Nice that Oracle has the opportunity to fix all the problems (with this re-org) that have plagued the company's sales over the last decade.

Oracle is a dump. Get out as soon as you can.

It’s going to be global. I am hearing chatter of there being cuts in Fusion.

I saw a bunch of openings for my GBU. Like our mgnt our sales arm is way over bloated. It always made me laugh when they’d just go “missing”. They just move on and do same job somewhere else. I guess they’ll be hunting recent college graduates for ASR jobs. The less I can interact with sales the better.

I can't say for sure, since I have only been at Oracle for a couple of decades, but a sales reorganization happens every June, so this would not be a surprise.
