Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

401K Match Return Date

Does anyone know when the 401K match might return?

The 401K match was an important part of my total compensation and I've been getting recruited by other companies on a weekly basis since I'm in a high demand role. The lack of clarity of when the match will return is making it harder and harder to stick around.

I don't have any major issues with ExxonMobil and like my current team in the company. XOM just needs to stay competitive with compensation.

They cut benefits quickly at the first sign of trouble but require months and months of study and alignment before reinstating them.

What results? What have we been doing aside from twiddling our thumb and treating everything like it's business as usual.

In my pantry conversations with some in senior leadership positions....it aint coming back unless there is significant attrition.- those who are marketable have already left while those that remain obviously cant find a role outside of EM

Rationale among the higher ups is that the remaining workforce demostrated to continue delivering results despite zero increment and 401k removal...so why bring it back?

Just bounce dude if you are getting offers. I plan to. The answer is it won't return until absolutely necessary, and given the reactive sh~t show I have seen thus far... it will come back 6 months after the great exodus. Go for "the bird in the hand is 2 in the bush" sort of thing.

It will not happen until all layoffs and 8% NSI are completed in 2021. Most likely after November 1.

If the world economy does not recover, it will continue to be postponed. .

No such thing as a temporary tax.

They'll return it when it's required to retain people that are leaving they actually want to keep

They are about to start layoffs again, I mean PIP, so don't hold your breath for the 401K matching returning anytime soon.
