Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Don’t be scared to quit

I applied for probably 10 plus jobs and within a week had interviews with most of them and an offer or two. Finally accepted an offer and I’m out of that One Team trap. My morale was low, I was miserable and wanted out for a while. I hated that job more than anyone you could possibly know. One Team, upper management, the expectations for less pay all stunk, but the way customers act these days after being locked up for a year was draining.

Anyway! I’m a week removed and I have never been so happy. Worked their since I was 20 and I’m 28 now so it was a bit scary but having Verizon on tour resumé holds power as sad as that is to say and you can make the same (honestly more in most cases) than you do now.

Retail is awful so don’t trap yourselves waiting for a severance because I doubt it will be anytime soon that you will get one offered (except in extreme circumstances) and enjoy living again. I truly hated that place so much this past year than probably anyone with all the bs and it’s not going to get better. Good luck y’all!

Same thing happened to me. Took less than 3 weeks for me to find a good job, starting me off at what I was making at V, M-F, and where I’m respected by leadership and the company.

Other corporations scoop up Verizon employees quickly. If anyone is ready for a change, don’t be afraid to do it.
