ESC which served as the EMRE branch of Imperial is dissolved and will have individuals assigned to sites or EMRE.
I think EMRE at some point will see huge reductions in headcount as well

Given ESC Canada's fate, what happens in Europe for the EMRE office there?
Most likely it will be your old organization will put you as the sacrificial lamb. Especially if that organization had you for majority of the ranking period.
@2jue+1aHjUwgG really sorry you were made to feel that way. It just sucks. The younger engineers at site and esc appreciate you. People at esc do make a difference, and I am super grateful. Thank you!
I'm also an ESC'er. Love the way Naomi describes the department as phasing out because we're not needed. Thanks. Makes a person feel valued for all the years of hard work and extra unpaid OT, traveling away from family, etc.
Watch 25% of the team resign in the next year.
Be careful accepting a transfer to another location, manager, and new job assignment especially during a downsizing and layoff. Your new manager may put you in the bottom 8% NSI category as the sacrificial lamb for his or her group.
It's OK. With the planned salary arbitrage we won't have to report to our KL overlords for long. In all seriousness though... I highly recommend you test the market to see what jobs are available. I personally will be because I anticipate drip feed reductions through the performance system with a preferred targeting of employees in high cost countries for PIP. They just want a slower schedule to ensure staffing up is done in the low cost locations first. Separations on their terms not yours. Good luck to everyone.
It’s not going to be 8% , it’s going to be double that based on the news today

This guy gets it. Others are naive.
I agree with statements below. Consolidating American Canadian and KL personnel in upcoming ranking sets the stage for the slow drip of 8% cuts where you will see most cuts occurring in high cost locations. Your relative performance but now normalized by your cost. I personally am looking for alternatives because I recognize we are being set up for elimination. Just on a more gradual and convenient elimination basis that ensures the desired locations in Asia are appropriately staffed first.
@gad+1aHjUwgG
Even if they reassign, how many people are sites going to accept. No site is going to accept additional expensive individuals.
They are doing it before the PDAs to fire some people for sure.
Tax write-offs for R&D are going away. That's the main factor.
Can't write it off so it sinks in the oilsands.
I am an ESCer. Fate pending. It sounds like they are trying to reassign people.
So what happened to the employees? Let go or accomodated??
Yay!!!! Finally gotten rid of some dead weight
Take it as a sign of things to come. The management class in this company is in conflict with itself, and war with technical.
