Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Who Should We Fire Next?

Personnel? Organizations? Groups? Facilities? Expats? Employee Layers?

What dirt/disease should we get rid of fast from this corporation and why?

Articulate for the action committee!

LOL! I have definitely done 3 of these 5 roles..so I should have been fired 3 times now? 😂 🤣

We really do need to stop pointing fingers at each other. I see a lot of posts complaining about the current 'toxic' environment, managers, and leaders at work, but the same folks complaining display the same toxic characteristics on this forum. AND ...it's always someone else's fault... If it's not the leaders, it's the expats, the locals, CSR, RTD, CSP, support services, finance function, HR, SSHE or LPS ruining everything.

We all need to be reflective about what we can control and change within ourselves and in our immediate groups vs. blaming your co-workers for all the problems. Everyone needs to chill and in the words of the former US first lady... BE BEST

There are already a lot of excellent suggestions in the replies. However I would put, at the top of the list, anyone who had anything to do with bringing LPS into the company. And anyone who has invoked the SPIES model (are you spiritual about LPS)?

Let's admit it, we have waaaayyyy too many "Advisors" who does nothing. And they are still here, doing nothing. It's ridiculous that worker bees were let go first, and will continue to be let go this coming cycle. I vote to kick-out Advisors.

  1. Expats
  1. “Advisors” who just talk in meetings and don’t do the work
  1. EMIT SDMs - A non-technical person guiding my technical career, genius.
  1. Planners - A-s kissers
  1. Any group in 2019 that sent their team to vendor conferences where all they did was stay at a 5 star hotel, party and be on their phone at the conference. Brings nothing to the table.

No offense to anyone, there should not be any generalistaions like expat, locals. Just coexist and help eachother, but this gentleman asked for it.

@1tsa+1aHErW3d

Yes, its better to back to no ‘infrastructure’ and live in peace rather than having expats. Westernisation is more of a loss to the entire world than gain if you think about it objectively. A balanced, diverse world would help, just like in any team, sir.

I realise i am arguing with the only group of people in the history of mankind, who have single handedly led wars, destroyed lives, wiped off civilizations, enslaved other human beings and then take pride on their actions, all for money and greed. No wonder your current generation is depressed and unskilled at anything meaningful.

As history tells us, america is 300 years old. The worlds true civilizations were >3000 years old and they have survived till now.None of them flourished because of invaders, colonization. Colonization and invasions started fairly recently. It was a smal blip in time when the means of transport became available & colonizers accumulated the wealth through wars and invasions at the expense of other countries naiveity and good intentions.

Its only one group of people who constantly go to other countries to take whats not theirs and then act all intellectual about it. Its only one group of people who believe they are the best in their world because of their ignorance. A group of salesman and manipulators that talk smooth. Could you name it, sir?

Doesnt your conscience bother you, sir, that you still make comments about ‘locals’?

Whitney locals on here complaining about expats. Look around. How much of your infrastructure was built when you were under colonial rule? Maybe you’d be better off with a return to such.

EXPATS!
What a bunch of whiny a-s expats. You expats contributed to the wreck of this company. Soaked us long and hard with your salaries and benefits, lived large, and did nothing but serve as corporate spies and yes men. Why should this company pay you a bunch of money and give you a bunch of benefits just because you work outside your home country, you are all now spoiled rotten and we made you wealthy, get over it and go home. And for you young folks that want to experience life in another country, then move there and find a job.
