Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Pulse Survey question "Do you have a best friend at work?"

Having a “ best friend at work “ is said to have positive performance outcomes on the job. It is an odd question for Verizon to have in the pulse survey because they frown against having best friends at work. Even if it was something that was recommended the new covid atmosphere and work station set up makes it challenging. In any event such an odd question for a company that is anti work relationships.

No true friend would ever let their buddy work for Verizon.
I think the closest I could come to a Yes on this question would be to like it to me members of the military that have served in high stress, active combat situations.

I have positive relationships with my coworkers, but I don't come to work to make friends. I come to work to feed my family. These questions that are asked are so broad. If we were truly concerned about the customer/ customer experience, we would build a network for the customers, not ROOT....

I have a friend with benefits. Does that count?

No, but I do have an arch nemesis.

That question has been on the survey since they started to go with Gallup. You can take it how you want, but it's just asking if you have someone you can talk to at work. Not literally if your best friend works at the same company as you. Stop reading into it so much.
