Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Second phase

So when do we learn about the changes in the second phase ? I know it's never anything to the benefit of the employee but I would like a decent heads up. Is there any info out there ?

ive been with the company for 7 years and it was awesome back when i first started and even though their original saying awhile back was “change energizes up” its total bs, high end reps who worked their a** off for years under individual comm structure and to have it lowered and lowered and switch to team comm, change is total bs, i miss the old days and i hate the changes.

If rumors are true then it makes sense that we all of a sudden have a rush to remodel stores when we are cutting every penny everywhere else. Bye denim wish I could say it was fun.

It's literally in our job terms there is a severance in situations like this.

What makes you think they have to offer severance? This isn't any different than the company selling off parts of their business. The employees have the option to go to the new business or they are just terminated. They do the same thing with outsourcing. The ONLY reason that the rebadged Infy people were given a severance option was because someone didn't think through the ramifications of doing the rebadging at the same time they were offering an enhanced voluntary termination to 10,000 other employees. Prior to that, none of the outsourcing initiatives were offered severance. I don't see them doing it here either, if this whole sale of retail is true.

The stores in the Northeast have the most demanding and needy customers in the country ( they still believe we have tech support in the stores! They've been gone for about 8 years not counting the few years of experience specialists) By the way I remember the day Mgmt worked all 5 of them thru the front door during business hours) I think they might keep a few around in NYM/ PA and NE. Please Verizon, give some sought of Severence to the remaining full time employees so you can achieve your short-term goals for your remaining corporate stores for an all part time staff with keys.

They would have to offer severance as per the severance policy and I can see a lot of people taking it. Management would definitely take it. I just don’t see a large scale selling off. It’s better for the bottom line to slowly divest stores or just close them down as they do now. Plus why would they offer incentives when the indirects are already buying Corp locations with no incentives already?

lrc+1aGlvRtR so ifthat does happen ,what will the agents do when they tell customers to" go to the corporate store because they do that " May I ask also ? Will there be any corporate stores left after the end of year? Lastly.in this scenario, the employee is still being asked to sign with another company for definitely less pay and benefits ,many will not want to sign with them. It's Verizon, s decision to do this so some severence would be given to the reps who do not want to work for the resellers. However, it does make sense in this scenario. So, Verizon would do to get rid of retail.

All I know when all is said and done, I'm suing the socks off this company. They docked pay for being female, having an accent and covid policies.

Corporate stores will be sold to agents by the end of the year. If your store has been remodeled then it is part of the already signed contact and will be turned over to these companies. Approximatly 20% of stores will be closed. Three major groups will be purchasing the stores nationwide. You will be offered positions with 6 months of commissions guarantee to help transition plus a lump signing bonus to stay a full year. It will be a 2-phase sell off with all groups taking ownership by the end of December. You are rehired by the agent under their terms. Agents have already implemented the new purchasing agreements with Verizon and will begin getting all the benefits of VZW purchasing power and using only VZW vendors and packaging beginning in June/July. Agents will now additionally get 1.5% of customers monthly revenue they sign for 2 years above typical comp arrangement and .5% after that if they remain with Verizon. The business and government groups will be the only sales entity retained and directly run by Verizon due to previously agreed upon contracts. This is supposed to be confidential information but if you cross the wrong people then leaks happen. Besides you have the right to know.

This is now the worst job I've had in my life. It is impossible to succeed. Between the unfair survey system, the lack of staff, unreasonable quotas, reduced pay, walking sales, manipulating metrics, quality signal contradiction, unethical push on VzP home, terrible pos system, overly complicated promotions, miserable culture, unreliable quote tool, time off availability, poor store flow, smb 360, smb support, part time hiring farce, dual store shuffle, ugly uniforms, spotty 5G, Up to speed self indulgence, store safety concerns, fake cheerleading in chat groups, hostile customers, out sourcing of jobs and woke culture dementia. We are now 100% horrible. Congratulations

DMs $130,000 to 170,000 and directors $225,000 to 275,000. Did not take pay cuts at all.

Most likely, SMs head count will be done & vsp wud b handed out. Then the trainings abt being a “Key Holder” with no extra pay, naturally, wud be the reality for the Solutions Specialists. Then the commissions will be a target which nobody will achieve, since its gonna b a matter of 2 not 1 store. We’ll be working double for even less pay. GMs will still make their money, Good for nothing Area Managers & people above the line will enjoy all the fruitful bonuses, raises, awards etc and only the bottom line people will get hit hard. Thats their plan.
